Around 25% of all men and 50% of all women in their adult lives will suffer from acne. Today people in their 20’s, 30’s and 40’s are going to their doctor to seek medical assistance in order to treat adult acne. Just like teenagers, some of these people are also finding the condition very difficult to cope with.
It is hard to believe that this skin condition, which is common in teenagers, is now becoming just as common in adults as well. Although many people are unsure what the true cause of this skin condition there have been plenty of ideas put about. Certainly one cause which seems to be prominent for this condition is hormonal changes that are taking place in the person’s body. Therefore, it is important that if you at any stage feel you may have acne you should seek medical advice from you doctor as soon as you possibly can.
Along with hormonal changes in a person’s body possibly being the reason why as an adult they have got acne, but there are other reasons for which this has been caused. Below we take a look at a just what some of these are.
1. Another cause for why an adult may have suddenly begun to suffer from this skin condition is their poor dietary habits. If they are eating the wrong kinds of foods such as too much sugar, fat or carbohydrates then their body is not getting the rights amounts of nutrients that it needs. Not only will this cause their digestive system to function incorrectly but also their hormonal balance will not remain healthy.
But as well as your diet being high in the kinds of things we have mentioned above you may be someone who chooses to eat lots of processed food (takeaways etc). Therefore, if you want to make sure that you reduce the chances of suffering from adult acne you need to change your dietary habits. You need to start eating more fresh foods and increase the amount of water (eight glasses) that you drink each day. Doing this will further help to remove toxins from your body and reduce the chances of you suffering from this skin condition.
2. Another reason why some adults suffer from this skin condition is because they have inherited the gene from one of their parents. The problem that some adults will face who have inherited the condition is that theirs can become extremely severe and lead to scarring.
3. One other reason as to why you may be suffering from this skin problem is because of the makeup and skin care products that you use and which are synthetically made. The chemicals in these can often cause imbalances in the acid and alkaline in your skin and cause spots to erupt. If you really want to stop the condition becoming any worse or prevent the condition altogether use products that contain only natural ingredients.
Above we have shown you a few of the reasons why you may be suffering from adult acne. But just like teenagers you can use many prescribed and over the counter products in order to treat it. Along with using these it is important that you make changes to both your diet and lifestyle as well.
